This month we’re bringing back Learn To Sew classes PLUS a special choose-your-own-adventure style Tech Assistance session for those already on top of the basics. Classes are led by local designers and designed to get you feeling confident and motivated to tackle your next project!

LEARN TO SEW (4 participants)
SUN 22/03 2:30PM - 4:30PM
This is a complete beginner class that takes you back to basics. No experience necessary!
You will learn
How to thread a sewing machine and resolve tension issues
How to sew straight lines, corners and curves and how to gather fabric
How to sew buttons and buttonholes
How to choose a fabric, needles, thread
How to lay out and cut a pattern
Plus you’ll get a bunch of take-home instructional material and your own folder of sewing samples! VALUE!
What to bring: Your own sewing machine (or hire for +$10) / all other materials provided

This class is for anyone who has the basics down pat and wants a bit of guidance while working on their own project. Get all your most pressing questions answered and lock in for two hours of body doubling with a small group of cool people.
Suggestions for topics you might like some help with
how to read a confusing pattern
design/ collection feedback
patternmaking and grading
using an industrial sewing machine (lockstitch, coverstitch and overlocker)
sewing closures (zippers, buttons etc)
Includes a 15 minute dedicated creative consult just for you!
What to bring: Your own sewing machine (or hire for +$10) / a project to work on
