Throughout the month of May, Practice Studio founder Kat Walsh will be playing in the gallery space and working on designs for her upcoming label Naught Nu. From May 15 Kat will be joined by local designer Emily Park. Drop by to watch as their creative processes gradually unfold, with moodboards covering walls and draped designs evolving on mannequins.

Emily Park is the brains behind Eun, an innovative and exciting new label that debuted at the QUT student popup shop Capsule Collective in 2023. During the second half of the month, Emily will be dropping by to design pieces for her second collection using a digital sampling program.

NAUGHT NU

Naught Nu’s first collection will be made entirely from Kat’s current deadstock fabric stash and any trims, threads and notions will be sourced from within the studio’s walls. By buying ‘nothing new’ and limiting the availability of resources, Kat will be challenged to make the most of what already exists; an exercise in creativity guided by sustainable design principles.
